ORPHANAGE, SOUTH INDIA
SINCE 2010 DRURY TIRES HAS BEEN SUPPORTING A VERY SMALL ORPHANAGE IN SOUTH INDIA, IN 2017 ANTHONY WENT TO THE ORPHANAGE WITH HIS DAUGHTER SAMARA AND GOOD FRIEND ALAN WILSON.
In October 2019 Paul Smith went over with David Holloway to build 28 bunks for the children in the new 12 bedroom boys home quarters which Drury Tires had built.
When you purchase a tyre from our family business we use a small percentage to go towards this orphanage and we also have a donation jar on our reception counter.
If you would like to find out more or would like to make a donation please phone Anthony on 0212252142.
HERE ARE SOME THOUGHTS FROM SAMARA ABOUT ANIL AND SIREESHA'S ORPHANAGE.
To be honest I was quite worried about the first two weeks of our trip. I was never really interested in going to India, especially in a rural village in the middle of summer! From beginning to end our time at Faithway was incredible. I have never experienced such love in such a short amount of time. They treated us not only like royalty but also like family. The bond we were able to make with the children and village people was unforgettable and I can't wait to visit in a few years to see how these children have grown.
The organisation is run completely by donations and my dads business are the only constant sponsors. They desperately need to finish a seperate girls home, new beds and of course food for the kids. Along with that they rebuild homes that have been destroyed, give widows the opportunity to learn to sew, feed the old people who have no one to help them and help the people of the village with medicine when required. It's a lot of work and responsibility and Anil and his wife Have given up their lives to help those in need. I asked Anil why he decided to open the orphanage and he told me that he has been hungry, he has other gone up to four days with no food and that he doesn't want to see the children around him going through the same thing.
